It’s not just a Falcon Ute; it’s a Falcon Ute that’s ranch-flavored!

Some miscellaneous bozodry with the rear lights, relocating the badges to the rear fender and swapping “Ranchero” for “Falcon”, a custom rear roll pan, a bed trim delete, re-skinned B-pillars, and a rear window mod. Lots of gooney stuff, but I’m in no position to criticise people doing weird things with Rancheros...
I think this one is a ‘60/’61, based on what I can make out of the front bumper and the curve of the front fender. Further trivia: the Ranchero in the US was different than the Oz market Falcon ute, because while the Ranchero was based on the two door wagon, the Falcon ute was based on... basically the four-door sedan. Shorter rear overhang, same as the sedans instead of longer, short front doors shared with the four door, and a weirder cab.

this is my favorite UTE! I want one of these badly. Saw one once at a car show that was painted satin black properly and it was great.

If you’re patient, you can probably get a semi-decent driver in the $2k range. $4k worst case. They’re hard-ish to find, but not that horribly expensive unless they’re one that somebody has rodded out - which is about half of them. Heck, I think there’s somebody within 200 miles of me selling two ‘60s together for under $2k, though neither was running.

Idle curiosity had me looking for Rancheros in the northeast on your behalf, and... not many, apparently. Here’s *one*:

There was another one out Cincinnati way that somebody had put on a Blazer frame. Anyway, like I said, getting a roundbody is more an exercise in waiting than anything else. I got mine (a catastrophic rustpile) for $800. There were around that time a couple of “okay” ones for under $3k close to me, but the biggest key would be to search
absolutely nowhere near the rustbelt.
These things were absolutely neodymium rare earth rust magnets.

Thank you for the research. I’ve looked at that one quite a few times and it would be on my short list for sure. Unfortunately I need to offload my diesel 323 and my AW11 MR2 before I pick up another project. I had a 64 Barracuda that was southern and I’ll never buy another rust belt car again. Removed the rear leaf springs with only a 1/2" drive ratchet on that car. It was awesome.
